Carbon Reduction Statement 2025

Published: January 2025
Commitment: Achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2040.

At Ashdon Mechanical Ltd, we recognise the urgent need to address climate change and reduce our environmental impact. As a responsible mechanical services provider, we are committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, in alignment with the UK Government’s climate targets.

Our Carbon Reduction Commitment
We have developed a Carbon Reduction Plan to guide our journey to Net Zero. This includes clear targets, accountability, and meaningful action across all areas of our operations and supply chain.

Baseline Emissions (2024)
Our emissions for the baseline year 2024 are currently being assessed and verified. We are focusing on the three main categories:

Scope 1: Direct emissions from fuel use and company vehicles.
Scope 2: Indirect emissions from electricity use.
Scope 3: Indirect emissions from travel, commuting, procurement, and waste.

We are working with environmental consultants to complete a full carbon footprint analysis and will publish detailed figures in our next sustainability report.

Our Carbon Reduction Targets
30% reduction by 2030.
60% reduction by 2035.
Net Zero by 2040.
We will publish annual progress updates and review our targets regularly to remain on track or exceed expectations.

Key Actions We're Taking
Cleaner Fleet: Phasing in electric and hybrid vehicles, with 50% conversion by 2030.
Energy Efficiency: Upgrading to LED lighting, smart heating controls, and energy-efficient equipment.
Renewables: Transitioning to 100% renewable energy suppliers and exploring solar power options.
Sustainable Procurement: Working with low-carbon suppliers and choosing local materials where possible.
Waste Reduction: Expanding site recycling, eliminating single-use plastics, and reducing material waste.
Smarter Working: Investing in digital tools to cut paper usage and unnecessary travel.

Our Approach to Offsetting
Where emissions cannot yet be eliminated, we will use certified offsetting schemes such as tree planting and renewable energy investments — always prioritising real reductions first.

Accountability and Transparency
This plan is owned by our leadership team, with a dedicated Carbon Reduction Lead coordinating implementation. We are committed to training staff, engaging suppliers, and reporting transparently.

Let’s Build a Greener Future Together
We believe sustainability is not just a responsibility — it’s an opportunity. We invite our clients, suppliers, and partners to join us in delivering projects that are efficient, responsible, and low-carbon.
